The Footscape team have pleasingly settled into our new premises in Fitzroy, Melbourne. It is understood that this Podiatry material aid configuration is the largest of its kind in Australia.
The new setup will better support volunteers, organisation stakeholders and ultimately recipients of our material aid. Accordingly, monthly working bees are now being hosted.
Podiatrists and other supporters who would like to attend working bees and support our work are encouraged to contact Footscape via the form below.
Upcoming working bee dates include:
• Sunday, April 19, 10am-12pm.
• Saturday, May 16, 10am-12pm
• Sunday, June 21, 10am-12pm
• Saturday, July 18, 10am-12pm
Working bee volunteers typically enjoy the relaxing environment and the opportunity to meet and chat with friends whilst supporting disadvantaged persons encountering foot problems. There is typically an assortment of tasks available to participate in. These include assembling foot care kits, processing incoming footwear donations and filling material aid requests. The majority of tasks are non-physical.
Excitingly, our February event witnessed a record crowd of volunteers. Attendees included Podiatrists, La Trobe University Podiatry students as well as staff from My Foot Clinic and Community Bank Clifton Hill-North Fitzroy. Our website creator Dylan was on site and captured the warm atmosphere of the day.
There are concurrently opportunities for workplace volunteering at Fitzroy. Long time supporters Nelson Alexander Fitzroy have arranged an event for July. Their staff will learn about Footscape, Podiatry and foot health amongst disadvantaged persons before participating in volunteer activities. Podiatry and other businesses interesting in conducting workplace volunteering are encouraged to contact the Footscape team.
